Nikki Freeman loves the wild places; walking, photographing and planning for whatever comes next.
In 2025, she undertook a project, traveling round the edges of the British Isles, after loosing her 2 dogs the year before. It gave her a focus and the resulting adventures turned into 10 months of wonder.
Weathered Edges is a personal travelogue and guide to the 19 Inshore Waters stations and areas mentioned in the BBC's Shipping Forecast broadcasts. The book contains 37 walks, with maps, photos and descriptions, as well as Nikki's observations, discoveries and travel challenges.
